Job summary

Mercy seeks a patient care assistant to support clinical teams in delivering compassionate care. You will assist with individualized patient needs under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse, and perform designated clinical procedures and essential non-clinical tasks.

Employment offers a Mercy training pathway, with a required 175-hour program and BLS certification within one month of hire, plus PCA competencies within three months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or enrolled in healthcare program.
• CNA/CPTC certification or enrollment preferred/required by program.
• BLS required within one month of hire.
• PCA competencies completed within 3 months of hire.
• Must be physically capable to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team to meet patient goals.
• Participate in Mercy's orientation and training programs.
