Job summary

Mercy seeks a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to assist in individualized patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN. You will work as part of a collaborative team, performing clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks essential to patient wellness.

Education options include a high school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC or enrollment in a healthcare program, with Mercy providing a 175-hour training program and orientation. BLS within one month is required, as well as PCA competencies within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC or enrolled in healthcare program
• No prior experience required
• BLS certification within one month; complete PCA competencies within 3 months

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks
• Participate in Mercy's UAP training program and orientation
• Maintain safety and patient/device protocols
• Meet 90-day training and state requirements
