Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to float between the RACU and General Medicine units, delivering compassionate daily care to acutely ill patients and those with general medical needs.

You will assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, EKGs, and documentation in the electronic health record, while supporting nursing staff and maintaining a clean, stocked environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Medical Assistant and Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician credentials.
• 0-1 year of patient care/elder care experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks and document vitals, EKGs, bathing and hygiene.
• Assist with intake of fluids/food, urinary and stool output in the EHR.
• Stock, equip, and clean patient rooms and manage supplies.
• Assist with admitting and discharging patients.
• Support orientation of new PCA team members.
• Communicate with nursing staff about patient care and conditions.
• Foster teamwork and professional growth.
