Job summary

Mass General Brigham's 55 Fruit Street campus is seeking a Patient Care Assistant I (PCA) for day and night availability on a 24-hour schedule. This on-site role is in the orthopaedics and Oral Maxillofacial/Medical unit with rotating weekends and holidays, 11 PM–7 AM, 3 shifts per week.

Under licensed supervision, the PCA assists with activities of daily living, measures vitals, performs basic clinical tasks, documents in the EHR, and supports admissions/discharges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• BLS, CMA, EMT-B Massachusetts, and LNA preferred.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong patient service skills.
• Lift up to 35 pounds.
• Proficient with electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks and document vitals, EKGs, and other data in the EHR.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and daily living activities.
• Maintain stocked and clean patient rooms; set up equipment.
• Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
• Support RNs and physicians during exams and treatments.
• Communicate effectively with staff and patients; maintain patient safety.
