Job summary

Mayo Clinic is hiring Patient Care Assistants (PCA) to work alongside nurses and other healthcare professionals in caring for hospitalized patients. A structured training program will help you gain the knowledge and skills to provide safe, compassionate care, with signed-on support and collaboration across the care team.

They offer a full-time schedule with 40-80 hours per pay period and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English.
• Basic Life Support certification will be provided if not currently held.
• 12 college credits required OR high school diploma/GED with Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, nutrition support, and comfort needs.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake and output, and other patient information in the EHR.
• Support a safe patient care environment through adherence to safety practices and protocols.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support care delivery.
