Job summary

Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Inpatient Unit to support pediatric patient care under RN supervision. The part-time evening shift offers 32 hours per week and opportunities to assist with wound care and child-friendly activities.

You will work with a compassionate team delivering family-centered care to children and their families in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA (Ohio STNA) license required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• The PCA provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
• Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
• Assists with wound and skin care, keeps unit and work areas stocked, and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate.
• Assists with the planning and provision of structured, age appropriate activities for patients under the guidance or direction of a Child Life Therapist.
• Monitors children's activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children.
