Job summary

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a PRN Patient Care Assistant to join the Inpatient Unit. The role involves 8-hour shifts as needed, delivering direct patient care under a RN, and supporting daily patient and family needs in a pediatric setting.

The PCA will assist with wound care, keep the unit stocked, and perform routine tasks while maintaining compassionate, family-centered care. Prior CNA credentials and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association; pediatric experience of 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
• Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
• Assists with wound and skin care.
• Keeps unit and work areas stocked, and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate.

Position

Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a PRN Patient Care Assistant in our Inpatient Unit. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Hours

This PRN position will work 8 hour shifts on an as needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.65 - $27.98. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
