Job summary

Shriners Children's Chicago is seeking a Part-Time Patient Care Assistant for the Inpatient Unit. The role is 56 hours bi-weekly (0.7 FTE) with 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm shifts, plus an every other weekend and holiday rotation, to support pediatric patients and families.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with patient care, help with wound/skin care, restock, and perform delegated nursing tasks while displaying compassionate, patient-centered behavior at all times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• CPR certification from American Heart Association required.
• One year of pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
• Keeps unit stocked and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate.
• Demonstrates caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
