Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for St. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital. You will assist patients with daily activities, support nursing staff, and help maintain safe, comfortable patient environments.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital sign monitoring, hygiene assistance, and basic measurements such as intake/output and daily weights. CPR within 14 days is required. This on-site role serves North Harris and Montgomery counties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing or 1 year direct patient care experience.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs.
• Assists with personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily weight.
• Performs blood glucose testing using a glucose meter.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities. Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
