Job summary

St. Joseph Health Burleson Hospital in Caldwell, Texas is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with basic daily life activities and assist nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and room preparation.

You will help with hygiene, feeding, weight checks, glucose testing, and recording intake and output, delivering compassionate care, and following safety protocols. A High School diploma and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR (Basic Life Support) certification within 14 days.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff.
• Monitors and records vital signs.
• Assists in personal hygiene and physical care needs.
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output.
• Obtains and records daily weight.
• Performs blood glucose testing using a glucose meter.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate, upon hire or
• High School GED, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.63 /hour
