Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Luke’s Health – Memorial Lufkin is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients with daily activities, hygiene, mobility, and meals while supporting nursing staff with vital signs and room prep.

You will be attentive, compassionate, and coachable, completing tasks such as checking vitals, recording intake and output, and assisting with weight measurements. Requires HS diploma or nursing grad and CPR certification.

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing or 1 year direct patient care experience
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Pay Range

$16.06 - $22.69 /hour
