Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant I (PCA I) to support patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse in both clinic and inpatient units. You will work closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to ensure patient needs are met and care is delivered safely.

The ideal candidate demonstrates basic medical terminology, strong communication skills, and reliable organization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Certification as a CNA or CMA; nursing students or graduates may be exempt under certain conditions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA-approved program.
• Other unit/service/clinic-specific certificates as required.
• One year of related clinical work experience preferred.
• SAMA certification within 90 days of hire.
• EKG and/or Phlebotomy competency validation may be required depending on specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse in clinic and inpatient units.
• Collaborate with charge nurse and staff to ensure patient care needs are met.
• Perform delegated patient care tasks and adhere to safety standards.
