Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This full-time Days role offers 7a–7:30p shifts with rotating holidays and weekends, under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities, providing basic nursing care, and maintaining a safe environment. CNA certification and BLS are required; phlebotomy and EKG certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing care under RN supervision.
• Maintains a safe environment and supports the care team on the unit.
