Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and to assist in basic nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications include a CNA certification, phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months of acute care experience. Full-time, days shift, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain a safe environment on the unit or team.
