Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is hiring a Patient Care Assistant to help patients with daily living activities and to provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The role requires CNA certification or eligibility, BLS within 30 days, and preferred phlebotomy and EKG credentials. A high school diploma is required, and prior acute care experience is valued. This is a full-time day shift with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred.
• BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• CNA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living under RN supervision and provide basic nursing care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment on the unit.
• Support the nursing team with routine tasks and patient comfort.
