Job summary

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL seeks a Patient Care Assistant (CNA) for night shifts (7pm–7:30am) in the Medical Surgical Telemetry department under RN supervision.

The role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living, basic nursing care, and maintaining a safe environment while supporting the care team. CNA certification, BLS, and local licensure are required or preferred; six months acute care experience is favored.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA – Illinois approved Certification.
• Phlebotomy certification upon hire is preferred.
• EKG certification upon hire is preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Schedule: Night shift- 7pm-7:30am with rotating holidays and weekends

Facility: Holy Family Medical Center

Location: Des Plaines, IL 60602

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Illinois approved Certification required.

3. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.

4. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.

5. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

6. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

7. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
