Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services' Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Telemetry unit, night shift (7:30pm–7:00am).

You will assist patients with daily living activities, provide basic nursing care under RN supervision, and help maintain a safe environment.

Requirements include CNA certification, BLS, phlebotomy and EKG preferred, and at least six months acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred upon hire.
• EKG certification preferred upon hire.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and kept current.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Minimum six months in acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
