Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

This full-time night shift position involves 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with rotating holidays and weekends. The role requires CNA certification or current CNA status, phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred, and BLS within 30 days of hire, along with a strong knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Facility Specific Requirements (as Applicable Required)

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.00 to $26.68.
