Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to aid patients with daily activities and provide basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires CNA certification and preferred phlebotomy/EKG credentials, with BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires CNA certification (state approved).
• Phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred on hire.
• Basic life support (BLS) within 30 days of hire; maintain current.

• Minimum six months acute care hospital or physician’s office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current. 4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

6. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.7. High School Diploma or equivalent

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68.
