Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care. You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit, contributing to a safe, compassionate patient environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, maintaining safety, and supporting the care team during night shifts in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred upon hire.
• EKG certification preferred upon hire.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN in charge.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

• 1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• 2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• 3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• 4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• 5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

• 6. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• 7. High School Diploma or equivalent

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
