Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide general patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse on the unit. This full-time role offers 12-hour day shifts (6:45am–7:15pm) in a coronary care setting.

Ideal candidates hold a CNA certification and a high school diploma or equivalent, with BLS within 30 days of hire. Phlebotomy and EKG certifications are preferred, and at least six months of acute care experience is

Qualifications

• CNA certification required or preferred.
• BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; EKG certification preferred.
• Minimum six months of acute care hospital or physician’s office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology beneficial.
• Strong ability to monitor and record vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care under RN supervision.
• Record vital signs, assist with bathing, feeding, toileting, repositioning, specimens, and transportation while monitoring connections.
• Monitor Coronary equipment, observe rhythm strips, recognize alarms, and alert nurses to changes.
• Assist with lead and wire care, secure connections, ensure monitors stay accurate, and troubleshoot monitoring issues.

Hours: 12-hour shifts – 6:45am to 7:15pm

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, Alabama

We are seeking a Patient Care Assistant, sometimes referred to as a Nurse Aide or a Patient Care Partner (PCP). Our Patient Care Assistant (CoronaryPCA) will providegeneral patient care and assistance to the Registered Nurse overseeing the unit.

Responsibilities

• Support patients with daily living activities, deliver basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe environment while working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse overseeing the team or unit

• Carry out general PCA responsibilities such as recording vital signs, assisting with bathing, feeding, toileting, repositioning, collecting specimens, and transporting patients while maintaining monitoring connections

• Monitor Coronary equipment, observe rhythm strips, recognize alarms, and alert nurses to changes such as arrhythmias or abnormal heart rates

• Assist with lead and wire care, replace or secure connections, ensure monitors stay accurate and troubleshoot any issues that may interrupt monitoring

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), state approved Certification required.

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.

• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
