Prime Healthcare in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support Riverview Regional Medical Center affiliates. The CMA will prepare patients for exams, take vitals, administer injections, and document in the EMR while assisting with front office tasks.

A current CMA credential and BLS are required, with potential for growth and full benefits. The position is a full-time, dayshift role at 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum one year work experience in public contact job.
• Work experience in health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vitals, updating medical history, and noting current symptoms.
• Assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, injections, wound care, and immunizations.
• Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws, throat swabs, and urinalysis.
• Administer medications, coordinate referrals and follow-ups, and document care in the EMR.
• Provide patient education, support infection control, and help with scheduling and front office tasks.

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Gadsden Physician Management clinic, affiliated with Riverview Regional Medical Center. Alsoreferredto asanOutpatient Clinical Medical Assistant(CMA), Family MedicineMedical AssistantMedicineor Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), our clinicsupports providers by preparing patients for exams, performing clinical tasks like taking vitals, administering injections, and documenting in the EMR. They also help with patient education, care coordination, and front office duties to ensure efficient and high-quality care.

** You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position, or be willing to get your certification within 90 days of hire.
