Job summary

The Patient Care Assistant II role at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital supports the RN by performing a broad range of patient care duties on 8- and 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. You will help maintain a safe environment, monitor patients, and respond to calls and changes in condition on a busy unit.

Daily responsibilities include blood glucose monitoring, performing EKGs, applying simple dressings, using aseptic technique, and supporting patient and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Student with approved training; HeartSaver CPR/AED required.
• Ability to speak, read and write English; able to perform basic math and recording data.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe environment and monitor patient safety risks; follow restraint policies under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Perform EKGs and blood glucose monitoring as directed; assist with basic patient care tasks.
• Document patient data accurately and communicate with the RN; maintain unit efficiency and collaborate with team.
