Job summary

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to join the patient care team on site. The role supports the Registered Nurse with clinical tasks, including blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, dressing changes, and responding to emergencies using Heartsaver CPR and AED skills.

Shifts are 8 and 12 hours, every other weekend and holidays; the PCA II helps ensure a safe, patient-centered environment and participates in care coordination and documentation under RN

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or current Nursing Student who has completed fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent rotation.
• CPR AED Heartsaver certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of the RN.
• Perform blood glucose monitoring, EKGs and simple dressing changes.
• Respond to patient and family needs; maintain patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain infection control and safety procedures; use proper body mechanics.
