Job summary

Mental Health Resource Center, Inc. is seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist to ensure accurate and timely claims submissions, reimbursements, adjustments, and refunds for assigned insurance payers in line with current policies and procedures.

The role requires 2+ years in medical third-party billing, strong Microsoft Office skills, and attention to detail. This is a Full Time Days position, with standard business hours and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have two years of medical third-party billing and collection experience.
• Two years of experience using desktop computers and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Files claim with all appropriate payers.
• Generates daily billing reports reflecting payer summaries for submission to the Business Office Manager.
• Transmits billing electronically and manually for all companies according to deadlines.
• Performs timely and accurate applications and insurance company payments/adjustments.
• Evaluates denials promptly for reconciliation and rebilling.
• Responds to inquiries from third-party payers and individuals served regarding claims.
• Maintains financial files with demographics, financial status, and payer source.
• Works with staff on third-party verification and ensures proper pre-certifications and verifications.
• Reviews A/R aging and billing error reports to correct issues and prevent delinquencies.
• Processes financial evaluations for sliding scale eligibility and maintains financial documents.
