Job summary

Health Care Resource Center, a progressive outpatient clinic, is seeking a Full Time Patient Access Representative / Patient Account Representative. You will review, maintain, and process patient accounts, verify insurance benefits, and post payments with a focus on accurate billing and timely collection.

The role requires strong customer service, familiarity with Medicaid and private insurance, and proficient PC skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years’ prior medical office experience.
• 2-4 years’ experience with Medicaid and PAC and commercial insurance (preferred).
• Excellent customer service skills and professional presentation, including telephone etiquette.
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures, documentation and records maintenance.
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures, data reporting and basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, maintain, and process fiscal/account records and transactions related to patient’s accounts.
• Verify insurance benefits and billing information; annotate accounts with coverage and estimated patient shares.
• Contact third party payers for payment post billing and resolve billing issues.
• Maintain accurate accounts with signatures, demographics, and correspondence.
• Monitor authorizations and claim rejections; assist with pre-authorization processes.
