Job summary

Round Table Medical Consultants Llc is seeking a Patient Collections Representative in Houston, TX to handle patient billing questions, explain the billing process, and manage self-pay and post-insurance balances. You will document all patient interactions in the billing system and support timely cash collection in a fast-paced clinical environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in medical call centers, excellent communication, and strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on patient

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience within a medical call center environment.
• Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Google Sheets.
• Ability to multitask while simultaneously managing phone calls.
• Accurate typing speed of 40 WPM.
• Proven ability to interpret and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in de-escalation techniques for resolving difficult patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the recovery of outstanding patient balances by managing high-volume inbound and outbound calls.
• Evaluate patient accounts to determine eligibility for payment plans, financial assistance, or charity care.
• Utilize persuasive communication to secure immediate payments or set up structured plans.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies by reviewing insurance EOBs and eligibility.
• Maintain detailed records of all collection efforts within the billing system.
• De-escalate complex billing disputes using clear, simple language.
• Meet production targets related to cash collection and call quality KPIs.
• Maintain attendance and productivity in a high-volume call center environment.
