Coastal Horizons in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to manage patient billing, generate statements, and record payments from multiple sources. You will respond to patient questions and explain charges and coverage.

The role requires 2–3 years in billing, knowledge of healthcare billing systems, Excel proficiency, and strong organizational and analytical skills. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2-3 years experience in billing roles.
• Familiar with healthcare billing systems and revenue cycle procedures.
• Experience with billing private insurance and reading remittances.
• Customer service experience with resolving issues.
• Basic computer skills including Excel.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Working knowledge of cash management principles.

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage patient calls about medical bills.
• Explain bills and insurance coverage clearly to patients.
• Post and report payments per policies.
• Verify accounts against the accounts receivable ledger.
• Reconcile client accounts weekly before statements.
• Report monthly revenue and AR status.
• Maintain cooperative work environment and assist team.
• Proficient with MS Office and medical billing software.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Sedentary work with light lifting up to 10 lbs.
