Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of related work experience or education demonstrating scheduling capabilities.
• Preferred knowledge of medical terminology obtained through formal education or healthcare work experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for department services or studies based on physician referral.
• Calls patients to set up and confirm appointments; follows up on referrals and records cancellations and reschedules.
• Answers, screens and directs telephone calls.
• Provides information in response to general inquiries from patients, visitors, staff and others.
• Performs related general office/clerical support duties.
• Transfers patient data to internal forms and faxes paperwork to Admitting for patient pre-registration.
