Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle seeks a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and schedule surgeries, procedures, and follow-ups across multiple physician teams, ensuring alignment of operative, clinic, research, and administrative schedules. You will manage day-of-visit patient flow, room patients, and handle Cerner communications to keep the clinic running smoothly.

You will also provide procedure room support and step in for sick and vacation coverage to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in healthcare or a related environment with knowledge of medical/surgical terminology
• Experience with IBM/Cerner/IDX
• Excellent customer service, communication, and de-escalation skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Collaborative, reliable, and punctual
• MA-R through the State of Washington, sponsored by Virginia Mason, required within 60 days of hire (if department requires patient rooming/workflows)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgeries, procedures, and follow-up appointments across multiple physician teams
• Serve as the central point of coordination for surgeons' schedules across Seattle, RMC, and off-site locations
• Manage day-of-visit patient flow and room patients
• Handle Cerner messages to keep the clinic running smoothly
• Provide procedure room support and cover for sick/vacation staffing to maintain continuity of care
