Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgeries, procedures, and follow-ups across multiple physician teams in Seattle and surrounding locations. You will manage day-of-visit flow, room patients, and handle Cerner communications to keep clinics running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in healthcare, Cerner/IDX experience, and strong organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

1 year of experience in healthcare or related environment with knowledge of medical/surgical terminology
Experience with IBM/Cerner/IDX
Excellent customer service, communication, and de‑escalation skills
Basic computer proficiency
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
Collaborative, reliable, and punctual
MA-R credential required within 60 days if department requires patient rooming/workflows

Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule surgeries, procedures, and follow-up appointments across multiple physician teams
Serve as central point of coordination for surgeons' overall practice across Seattle, RMC, and off-site locations
Manage day-of-visit patient flow, room patients, and handle Cerner communications
Provide procedure room support and cover for sick/vacation coverage
Maintain clear communication among surgeons, clinic staff, and patients
