Job summary

Orthopedic Centers of Colorado is seeking a Patient Advocate to ensure clinic compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and fraud prevention. The role involves patient registration, eligibility checks, error correction in charts, appointment validation with Phreesia and pre-registration duties.

You will greet patients, handle calls, and support ProviderFlow processes in a patient‑centered environment. The candidate should have at least two years in healthcare, familiarity with medical office procedures, and

• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with patients, employees and the public.

Responsibilities

• Check patient eligibility and registration information.
• Fix errors in charts and patient records.
• Validate Phreesia appointments; handle cancellations/reschedules.
• Perform pre-registration tasks.
• Greet and register patients professionally and courteously.
• Support ProviderFlow processes.
• Answer calls and voicemails promptly and assist patient needs.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Patient Advocate is responsible for ensuring the clinic meets the required standards to be successful. This includes HIPAA rules, OSHA rules, Compliance rules and regulations against fraud and abuse. Assignments are made in terms of broad goals and objectives and the incumbent must apply considerable decision making and independent judgement in daily activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Eligibility check
• Fixing charts/mistakes
• Phreesia appointment validations; cancellation/reschedules
• Pre-registration
• Recognize, greet and register patients in a polite, prompt and helpful manner
• ProviderFlow
• Answer all phone calls and voice messages in a pleasant manner and handle patient needs expeditiously
• Verify current informational statuses and collect insurance information, demographic information and signatures as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
