Job summary

Orthopedic-Centers-of-Colorado is seeking a Patient Advocate to ensure HIPAA, OSHA and clinic compliance standards are met within our outpatient therapy setting. The role requires careful decision making and independent judgement to manage daily activities and maintain high quality patient care.

You will perform eligibility checks, pre-registration, verify insurance and demographic information, greet patients, handle calls, and support accurate chart maintenance, with a focus on courteous

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures.
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
• Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Skills in operating business office machines.
• Skills in answering the telephone in a professional manner.
• Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with patients, employees and the public.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Patient Advocate is responsible for ensuring the clinic (physical/ occupational therapy clinic) meets the required standards to be successful. This includes HIPAA rules, OSHA rules, Compliance rules and regulations against fraud and abuse. Assignments are made in terms of broad goals and objectives and the incumbent must apply considerable decision making and independent judgement in daily activities.
