Vance Thompson Vision Clinic is looking for a Patient Advocate to join their team in Omaha, NE. This role is crucial in verifying insurance coverage and scheduling appointments while ensuring exceptional patient care.

You will be responsible for completing insurance verification forms, preparing surgery schedules, and addressing patient inquiries. A proactive and detail-oriented approach is essential, with investments in staff wellbeing including a shoe allowance and 401k contributions.

• Previous experience with medical scheduling and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verifying insurance coverage prior to patient arrival for evaluation.
• Completing insurance verification forms with correct benefit information.
• Preparing surgery schedules and scheduling post-operative appointments.
• Providing estimates to patients on financial responsibility.
• Creating daily reports of evaluations to verify insurance is in-network.
• Answering patient phone calls and addressing patient concerns.
• Obtaining proper insurance information and providing fee schedules.
• Preparing, maintaining, retrieving, and distributing medical records.
• Ensuring all preoperative testing and documentation is completed.
• Processing Mission Vision and patient assistant program applications.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Verifying insurance coverage prior to patient arrival for evaluation and determining if the clinic or surgery center are in or out of network for patients.
• Completing insurance verification forms with correct benefit information, including deductible, co-pay and/or coinsurance.
• Preparing surgery schedules and scheduling post-operative appointments for patients.
• Providing estimates to patients on financial responsibility.
• Creating daily reports of evaluations to verify insurance is in-network and obtaining referrals and prior authorizations from policies that require it.
• Answering patient phone calls promptly and addressing patient concerns.
• Obtaining proper insurance information and providing fee schedules and insurance information to patients.
• Preparing, maintaining, retrieving, and distributing medical records as needed.
• Ensuring all preoperative testing and documentation is completed prior to procedure.
• Processing Mission Vision and patient assistant program applications for patients.

You Have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience with medical scheduling and insurance
