Job summary

Paycom is seeking a patient admissions clerk responsible for admitting patients to the appropriate department and entering demographic and billing information with accuracy and timeliness. You will greet patients and families, coordinate with clinical departments, and ensure smooth registration, scheduling, and insurance pre-certification processes in a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Gathers demographic and billing information accurately.
• Handles admissions, registrations, scheduling and pre-certification processes.
• Familiar with insurance pre-certification requirements and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Admits/registers patients for office visits, procedures or hospital admission.
• Explains hospital policies and collects required information and signatures.
• Assigns hospital room and coordinates transport when admitting to the hospital.
• Notifies outpatient departments of patient arrival and provides directions.
• Coordinates bookings with inpatient admission, OR, Cath Lab and Radiology as needed.
