Job summary

Mizell Memorial Hospital Incorporated is seeking a Registrar to facilitate the patient admission flow, gather demographic information, and secure necessary signatures and data for entry into the hospital information system.

The Registrar will coordinate room assignments with patients, physicians, and nursing staff, and strive to make the admission experience comfortable for patients and families. Strong communication and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Interpersonal skills—customer relations, grammar, reading, and organizational skills.
• Physical requirements: walking, standing, lifting, reaching, etc., with specified limits.
• Basic typing and computer use required.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient admission flow and identify patients.
• Gather demographic information and secure financial/guarantor data.
• Obtain required signatures and documents; enter admission data into HIS.
• Coordinate patient room assignments with patient, physician, and nursing staff.
• Serve patients and families to ensure a comfortable admission experience.
