Job summary

Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls is seeking an Admissions Clerk to join our team. You will pre-register patients for admissions, verify demographics, insurance information, and enter data into the hospital system with accuracy.

You will collect signatures on consent forms, communicate with patients and staff, post payments, and help ensure completion of registrations. A high school diploma or GED is preferred and 1–3 months of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to use hospital information system.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and speak effectively.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registering/registering patients for admissions, emergencies and procedures.
• Verify demographics, physician, emergency numbers and insurance information.
• Enter accurate insurance information and run eligibility checks.
• Scan and attach patient orders, directives and IDs as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and initiate Advanced Directive process.
• Communicate with manager, supervisors, nurses, patients and families clearly.
• Receive and post patient payments, maintain cash receipts and records.
• Know hospital policies and admissions processes and resources.
