Job summary

Circle the City is seeking a Patient Accounts Supervisor to lead the billing and coding teams at our Admin Office in Phoenix, AZ. You will ensure timely, accurate claims and compliance with FQHC standards, driving revenue that funds essential care.

The role requires supervisory experience, 3–5 years in healthcare finance, and a strong grasp of payer requirements. You’ll mentor a remote team and partner with multiple departments to optimize processes and access to care.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in medical billing, revenue cycle, or healthcare finance.
• FQHC billing experience preferred but not required.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or lead experience with a proven ability to motivate and develop others.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily patient account billing operations, including charge review, claim submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable management.
• Provide hands-on leadership to a team of remote billers and specialists - coaching, mentoring, and creating a culture of accountability and teamwork.
• Monitor key metrics such as days in A/R, denial rates, and encounter closure timelines.
• Collaborate with front office, clinical, and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding for FQHC services.
• Assist with payer audits, credentialing updates, and compliance with Medicare, Medicaid (AHCCCS), and commercial insurance requirements.
• Identify trends, streamline workflows, and make data-driven recommendations to strengthen cash flow and operational efficiency.
• Partner with the Director of Patient Accounts to develop and refine workflows, training, and reporting dashboards.
