Qualifikationen

• Requires high school diploma/GED; post-high school accounting or medical business office certificate preferred.
• 18 months patient accounts experience required.
• 18 months billing/collections experience required; Medicare/Commercial billing experience favored.
• 5 years billing or collections preferred.

Aufgaben

• Performs collecting, reconciliation, credit balance resolution, research and independent problem solving.
• Submits appeal letters on underpaid claims and reviews EOBs for denials.
• Interprets payer contracts to determine accuracy of payments and adjustments.
• Maintains regulatory billing knowledge and trains staff on reconciliation techniques.
