Job summary

Pioneers seeks an experienced Hospital Billing Manager to lead revenue cycle functions across inpatient and outpatient services in Phoenix, AZ. You will oversee timely submission of clean claims, correct denials, and staff performance to maximize reimbursement and accuracy.

Onsite role with travel eligibility for relocation support as needed. You will work closely with the Director of Revenue Cycle and cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, efficient billing operations in a busy hospital

Qualifications

• Certification: CPC, CCS, or CIC.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in healthcare patient accounting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding and billing procedures.
• Familiarity with UB-04, HCFA-1500, and ADA billing forms.
• Experience with charge master maintenance, EDI claims, claims scrubbing, and insurance verification.
• Experience with EHR systems and navigating multiple data systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Location: onsite in Phoenix, AZ.

• Review coding for accuracy and compliance with CPT/HCPCS, E/M, CDT-2, and HCFA guidelines.
• Resolve escalated billing issues and coordinate with payers and internal stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Billing Manager to lead billing functions across outpatient, inpatient, ancillary, ambulatory surgery, and professional services in Phoenix, AZ.

In this role, you will oversee the timely submission of clean claims to third-party payers, manage the resubmission of corrected claims, and help maximize reimbursement while minimizing denials. You will lead billing staff, monitor key revenue cycle performance indicators, and support the Director of Revenue Cycle in achieving organizational clean claim goals.

This is a fully onsite position in Phoenix, AZ. Paid travel home is provided every other weekend for candidates temporarily relocating for the assignment.

What You'll Do

• Train and coach billing staff and conduct performance evaluations.
• Review work for coding and compliance accuracy, including CPT/HCPCS, E&M, CDT-2, and HCFA guidelines.
• Resolve escalated billing issues.
• Coordinate with payers, agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth revenue cycle operations.

What You'll Need

• Certification: CPC, CCS, or CIC certification.
• Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare patient accounting setting.
• Coding & Billing Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding and billing procedures.
• Billing Forms: Strong knowledge of UB-04, HCFA-1500, and ADA billing forms.
• Revenue Cycle Knowledge: Experience with charge master maintenance, EDI claims, claims scrubbing, insurance verification, and related hospital billing processes.
• Systems: Experience working with EHR systems and the ability to navigate multiple data systems.
• Compliance: Knowledge of CCI edits, CPT/HCPCS, E&M, CDT-2, and HCFA guidelines.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Location: Ability to work fully onsite in Phoenix, Arizona.
