Job summary

Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA is seeking a full-time Patient Accounts Coordinator to join the Business Office / Insurance Department. The role centers on submitting claims to payers, assisting patients with billing questions, and maintaining current insurance policies and procedures.

You will handle billing tasks, support insurance appeals, and provide financial guidance to patients while working a Monday–Friday daytime schedule, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus reimbursement/insurance training.
• Two years of experience in patient accounts or medical billing.
• Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Submit properly executed claims to payers on time and accurately.
• Keep insurance filing and billing policies current.
• Facilitate processing of insurance appeals for problem claims.
• Prepare daily and monthly bills for mailing.
• Provide financial consultations to patients on their bills and claims status.
• Hours are Monday through Friday (days) with potential evenings/weekends.

Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA has a full-time position (40 hours per week) in our Business Office / Insurance Department for a Patient Accounts Coordinator. Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for submission of properly executed claims on a timely basis to guarantors, insurance carries, intermediaries, performing rebilling and logging functions.
• Ensure insurance filing and billing policies/procedures are kept current.
• Facilitate the processing of insurance appeals of problem claims.
• Prepare daily and monthly bills for processing of mailing.
• Provide financial consultations with patients regarding their medical bills and the status of their claims.
• Hours are Monday through Friday (days) with evening and weekend involvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma plus specific training in reimbursement/insurance Two years or experience required.
• Mandatory Reporter training certificate a plus; certification is required as an employee within six months of employment.
