Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of medical billing and collections experience.
  • Knowledge of medical billing/coding, insurance regulations, and reimbursement policies.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Waystar, Japari, and other programs.

Responsibilities

  • Work with patients to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in patient accounts.
  • Process payments and refunds.
  • Review and update patient insurance information.
  • Obtain prior authorizations and verify coverage with insurers.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and denials.
  • Maintain accurate patient account information.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and providers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve reimbursement timelines.
  • Keep up-to-date with current insurance regulations and coding requirements.

Job Description

It is an exhilarating time of growth for USPh, and we are hiring an Onsite Patient Account Representative with strong technical ability and business acumen to join our expanding Houston team. Your role will be critical in our billing and claims department, and you will be asked to facilitate procedural requirements, including data elements, insurance verification, authorization for services, and collections for all patient portions, including prior balances.

This position is onsite at 1300 W Sam Houston Pkwy S, Suite 300, Houston, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with patients to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in patient accounts.
  • Process payments and refunds.
  • Review and update patient insurance information.
