Responsibilities
  • Interview patients or their representatives to obtain demographics.
  • Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
  • Work closely with the Admitting department, including PBX and reception areas.
  • Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
  • Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, utilizing age-specific techniques.
  • Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
  • Complete special projects or assignments within specified timeframes.
Qualifications
  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
