The Patient Account Registrar interviews patients or their representatives to obtain demographic information. This position also secures insurance details, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator functions and reception areas. Must be proficient in operating computers for data entry and retrieval. Effective communication with patients across all age groups—from neonatal to geriatrics—is essential. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or assignments may be given with expected completion within a specified timeframe.
