The Patient Account Registrar interviews patients or their representatives to obtain demographics, secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations. Works closely with the Admitting department, including PBX and reception. Must operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Communicates effectively with patients across all age groups, maintaining proficiency in medical terminology. May be assigned special projects with deadlines.
