Bayhealth Medical Center in Sussex Campus Hospital seeks a Patient Access Lead to oversee daily registration workflows and mentor staff. You will ensure accurate insurance verification, assist with pre-authorizations, and drive patient‑centered service in a fast‑paced environment.

This full‑time, on‑site role emphasizes revenue cycle responsibilities, with opportunities for process improvement and staff onboarding.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Three (3) years in Patient Access or Healthcare Revenue Cycle.
• Preferred: Five (5) years in Patient Access or clinic operation with leadership responsibilities.
• Credentials: Certified Healthcare Access Associate/Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide onboarding and coaching for staff; act as escalation point for workflow questions.
• Perform insurance verification, eligibility checks and pre-authorizations as applicable.
• Handle point-of-service collections and patient payment discussions with accurate documentation.
• Ensure demographic and insurance data accuracy in the EHR; follow department processes.
• Promote superior customer service while maintaining efficient patient flow in registration.
