Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Patient Access Team Lead for Admitting and Offsite Outpatient locations. The role focuses on supervising staff, ensuring accurate registrations, financial clearance, and excellent patient service across outpatient encounters.

The position requires effective communication, leadership of a team, and adherence to compliance standards. The candidate will work some holidays and weekends as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or 4 years experience in customer service, healthcare, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong computing and multitasking skills.
• Experience speaking with customers and handling stressed patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead Registrar role and organize daily operations at assigned locations with supervision input.
• Coach staff on training modules and workflows to ensure compliance.
• Advise on staff concerns, errors and training needs to management.
• Serve as a lead superuser coach to staff and ensure smooth patient registrations.
• Arrive high volumes of appointments for various service types and ensure proper documentation.
• Collect POS payments and manage financial clearance and payment collections.
