Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Patient Access professional to assist leadership in daily operations, staff training, and process improvements across facilities and contact centers. The role includes scheduling, performance monitoring, coaching, and on-call coverage to ensure service quality and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities span workflow optimization, data reporting, and cross-department coordination, with a focus on patient access efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in hospital Patient Registration Department, hospital or physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle role
  • 1+ years of experience with major Patient Access technologies and/or other 'like' systems
  • Ability to travel 5% to 10% of the time
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience preferred
  • 2+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare environment
  • 1+ years of experience with ICD-10 and CPT codes

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational guidance and support to assigned staff under the direction of the Patient Access Manager
  • Disseminate policy/procedure updates and support coverage of other divisions as required
  • Develop staff schedules to ensure cost-effective staffing and optimal workflow
  • Mentor and coach associates to ensure positive outcomes and performance
  • Maintain fiscal accountability and monitor budget parameters
  • Analyze data and prepare management reports related to patient access services
