Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor for the 10260 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team in Lutheran General IL ED Arrival. This full-time role includes 2pm-10:30pm shifts with weekend rotations and on-call duties shared among leadership. Prior supervisory experience and healthcare billing knowledge are preferred.

High School Diploma required. The position focuses on staffing, training, performance feedback, and ensuring accurate timekeeping and reporting within the patient access

Qualifications

• Background in patient access and health insurance is required.
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Healthcare billing knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists Manager, Director, AVP in meeting performance goals and standards for Patient Access.
• Assist Manager in training of all registrars in all areas of patient access.
• Provides guidance and feedback on employee performance through rounding, auditing and screening of registration work and various computer reports.
• Registers and pre-registers patients as necessary to support the team.
• Assist Manager with appropriate staffing of Patient Access areas.
• Assist Manager with completion of performance appraisals prior to due date.
• Reviews and assures that employee time is recorded accurately per Advocate policy.
• Assists manager in keeping current a departmental record (attendance and counseling sheets) on each employee including PTOs, absences, disciplinary actions, and notable actions.
• Assures attendance at mandatory classes and documents attendance.
• Represents Patient Access at designated facility on operational issues.
• Responsible for daily cash management and valuables function including audits.
• Produces reports and feedback to manager.
• Interacts with other Atrium departments as needed.
