Job Description
Education:
Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration required, or in lieu of degree, a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a physician office/practice, hospital setting, healthcare insurance provider, or other healthcare-relevant experience required. Bachelor's Degree and HFMA Certifications preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a physician office/practice, hospital setting, healthcare insurance provider, or other healthcare-relevant experience required.
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office skills; familiar with healthcare EHR applications such as EPIC and Cerner.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Requires problem-solving and decision-making skills in a variety of complex situations.
Knowledge of patient registration, third-party insurance coverage including managed care plans, benefits, authorizations/referrals, and coverage requirements.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong quality assurance and critical thinking skills are necessary for this role.
